While it froze outside and some of you lucky ducks played in the snow (not me, sadly), I was screen-locked with edits and bonus reads. That’s what happens when writers love their characters–we can’t stop writing them! So, this week, I dropped some…
- If you’ve read One Thing Better ☔️, don’t miss my two deleted scenes, especially if you have a Ben-crush like I do. Chess ♟️is my favorite! But a close second is Asheville (The Sequel), where Lena and Ben go on their first road trip together AND visit Jason Ford again. So much fun to write! 💜
- And coming soon… A Dot Story. It’s like a bonus epilogue for One Thing Better, only told from Dot’s POV. She’s still a Boss Bitch and Lena’s unlikely BFF, and you’ll see much more of her in Every Good Thing, the follow-up novel coming out later this year.
- If you’ve read The Delilah Duffy Mystery Series 🌊, then you’ll love A Good, Old Fashioned Duffy Family Christmas—new this week! Yes, I know, Christmas is over, but I couldn’t help myself. I HAD to bring the Duffys together again. It’s a Bonus Epilogue to Odd-a-Sea. 🕵🏻♀️ 💖
- Also new this week—Meet Rowan and Jack with the first three chapters (unedited) of Yes No Maybe, my next contemporary romance between neighbors releasing this year. 👩🏻🏫 👨🏻💻 🏘️ 🐈⬛❤️🔥 Preorder now! Or reach out THIS WEEK at jessica@jessicasherry.com and be a Beta Reader (for free!)!
BONUS READS like these are short enough to enjoy while waiting for the dentist or at the DMV (especially at the DMV) and better than picking up out-of-date magazines (I hope). And I wrote these just for YOU! They’re FOR SUBSCRIBERS ONLY. So, sign up, if you haven’t already.
So, what else is new in my screen-locked world?
I just finished Written in the Cards by Dana Storino. It’s a sweet, realistic romance that explores neurodiversity, fate, friendships, and high school nostalgia. Heartfelt, fun, and super-relatable! Now, I want to get my cards read! 🔮
Speaking of awww-inspiring love stories🥹😍, this week, I’m trimming my manuscript for Yes No Maybe (Available for Preorder)! I have 3,000 words to cut before it gets sent to my editor next week. Then, we’ll be VERY CLOSE to setting an official, much sooner release date. I’M SO FREAKING EXCITED ABOUT THIS BOOK! That’s why it’s hard for me to leave the screen…
But even writers need to step away from their desks every once in a while. We enjoy walks in the park. I really just use this time to think more about my book-boyfriends. 😏 Don’t tell Joe. One benefit to no snow is that we get to go here every day…
Hope you get some park-time this weekend!
Here’s a quote to help you this week (courtesy of my awesome planner):
“Look for something positive in every day, even if some days you have to look a little harder.”
P.S. I’m creating a #BadassCinderella Playlist to accompany Yes No Maybe. On the shortlist… Tina Turner, Selena Gomez, Rihanna… Help me with some suggestions of songs by female artists that empower you. Comment on the post or shoot me an email at jessica@jessicasherry.com. Thanks!
See you next month, my bookish friends!
