Free Books & A Thanksgiving Saved

Happy December! We’ve officially entered the December spin cycle that ends with Christmas. Hold on tight, people. If you’re already caught in holiday stress, take a page from my book (ha, writer pun) and relax with some free books.

But more on free books in a minute…

I missed my newsletter last week; maybe you noticed. That’s because I spent Thanksgiving in the Upside Down. You know, that’s the alternate universe in Stranger Things that looks similar to the real world, but it’s not quite right. (Forgive me, I can’t quite remember the story—I’m a romance/mystery girl, not sci-fi). Anyway, a family situation kept me on the road, traveling the week of Thanksgiving rather than home, cooking, which jeopardized our Thanksgiving feast.

So, the kids volunteered to do all the cooking for me!

That’s right! My minions saved Thanksgiving! We made it home Thanksgiving Day to a delicious meal and felt extremely grateful and proud of our kids. Ah, don’t you love a happy ending?

If the answer is yes… and who doesn’t, right?… here’s another thing that made an incredibly stressful week better—A GREAT BOOK. I finished In the Likely Event by Rebecca Yarros—a lawyer and a soldier bond in traumatic circumstances, but the fated couple’s relationship proves impossible until a dangerous chance encounter reunites them again. It’s a steamy romance and an action-adventure. I highly recommend it… unless you’re getting on a plane this Christmas. Then wait until after…

Even better, I read it for FREE! (Told you I’d get to the free books).

An Amazon Prime Membership isn’t just about the free shipping, ya’ll. In the Prime Lending Library (available to anyone with a Prime Membership), I “borrow” from a selection of hundreds of books and magazines, which is how I happened upon In the Likely Event. There’s something for everyone (and LOADS of Christmas books right now), so go check out your free books.

You NEED an escape from Holiday Madness, right? Consider it an early Christmas present for YOU!

But you don’t have to be a Prime Member to get free books. Search for FREE BOOKS, and you’ll discover many new authors begging for your fandom… like me. Over 2,000 new readers took a chance on Sea-Devil: A Delilah Duffy Mystery in November. YAY, new minions!

Coming Soon from me… Here’s a peek into my plans for the new year.

  • More BONUS CONTENT… Do you miss Delilah and Sam? I do! I do! How about some NEVER BEFORE SEEN chapters?
    • Or a SAMPLE CHAPTER from my next release? Yes, No, Maybe is still in the editing phase (including its title–I’m 99% sure it’ll be called something else), but I can’t wait for you to meet Rowan and Jack… aw, they are tickling my heart in so many ways right now… Swoon!
  • Their story will be available for PREORDER SOON… like weeks. And we’re shooting for two books next year! So what will come next? A One Thing Better sequel? A brain-tickling mystery? Another lovable romance? We’re plotting our devious book schemes now. *Cue villainous cackling*

Until then…

“There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.” – Sylvia Plath

Hot baths are amazing, but the same could be said for free books, right, Sylvia? What about a hot bath WITH A BOOK?

Have an amazing, stress-free week!

Bookishly Yours,

Jessica
