Creating a Pixar Disney Princess avatar using AI is a thing now. It’s all over Instagram. Be sure to type in your description with “in the Disney Pixar style,” if you want to try it. I admit—Disney princesses are adorable, so, of course, I want to see myself as one. But most days, I wonder—do I identify more as a villain?
Here’s Disney Pixar Me:
Cute, right? The frazzled-looking writer part is on point (though the age isn’t—we did try to make the princess older). Plus, Jimothy is never quite that interested in my work (just distracting me from it). The beach view is a dream, though I only live twenty minutes from the ocean—I was just there, playing pickleball near the sea.
But it’s the Friday before Black Friday, pickleball went badly, and I’m feeling villainous. So, I asked AI to make me a Disney villain…
Nailed it! This feels more like me, excitedly cooking up my devious schemes. My favorite characters to write are the bad ones—Chris Kayne from my Delilah Duffy Series tops the list, along with the murderers, thieves, and arsonists she’s uncovered. And you haven’t even met Adam yet—my drug-dealing telepath. One day, Adam. One day. If you think about it, in Disney, villains are only misunderstood souls longing for something the princes and princesses have that they don’t. We can all relate to that.
Oh, here’s the AI-generated version of Sam and Delilah with Chris Kayne in the background…
Delilah and Sam are a little too cutsey for me… but Chris Kayne looks AMAZING!!!
Speaking of double lives (without a villain)… We all wonder… what if things were different?
I JUST finished The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver, and YES… READ IT if you don’t mind your book entree with a side of sad. It’s about a woman who has lost her fiancé but is still with him in her sleeping life—a sliding doors-type story.
Another awesome novel like this is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, except the main character experiences hundreds of what-ifs… not just two. It’s a definite must-read if you enjoy this type of fantasy. They’re both great for your Christmas list (and here are more ideas).
Other News (that doesn’t involve a villain, though now I’m itching to write a new one):
- Hubby and first reader, Joe, finished the manuscript for my next contemporary romance, and the verdict is… he wants more Rowan and Jack! That’s a good sign, considering we’ll work with these fun characters for the next few months. Plus, he read the novel in three days—another great sign. Romance is not Joe’s preferred genre, so if he’s smitten with these characters, then YOU WILL BE, TOO! I can’t wait to bring you Yes, No, Maybe (though we may call it something else by then). Release date (and official title) TBA soon.
- Over a thousand people have downloaded Sea-Devil for free since Amazon finally price-matched it! Get your free ebook today (with the new cover!).
- The box set is also available for binge-readers, and it’s only $9.99 for 5 books!
- One Thing Better has received another must-read review from Stacy at www.bookbitch.com! Check out what she had to say and her other book reviews!
Something to think about this week…
“Nobody is a villain in their own story. We’re all the heroes of our own stories.” – George R. R. Martin
Perhaps that can be a good topic of discussion around the dinner table, huh?
Happy Thanksgiving to princes, princesses, and villains alike!
